Activities Year 2024
The Department of Biochemistry is pleased to share that our team successfully participated in the the 52th Annual Phramongkutklao Hospital Academic Conference, focusing on innovative techniques for protein extraction from FFPE breast cancer tissues. The poster, titled "Optimizing Protein Extraction from Formalin-Fixed Paraffin-Embedded (FFPE) Breast Cancer Tissue: An Efficient Procedure and the Impact of pH in Extraction Buffers".

🔍 Research Highlights:
Developed cost-effective methods for protein extraction using Tris HCl buffers at pH 7 and 9.
Protocol 2 (90°C for 120 min) yielded the highest protein concentrations, outperforming commercial kits.
SDS-PAGE analysis confirmed protein quality comparable to standard methods.
Conclusion:
This study provides an efficient and affordable alternative for protein extraction from FFPE tissues, enabling broader access to research tools for disease progression, prognosis, and treatment strategies.
We thank all contributors and participants for their support and look forward to continuing advancements in molecular biology and cancer research!
